In the event of an attempted phishing or spear phishing attack, we need to submit the email headers to the Information Security office at ISC. We can gather the email headers from you, the user, by having you forward the email as an attachment. This is different from a normal email forwarding that you are used to performing, since it preserves the original email structure and underlying properties. Please consult the steps below for the Outlook client you are using to properly forward an email as an attachment.

Office365 Outlook (Windows Client)

To forward an email as an attachment, select the message and then:

  • Select the arrow next to More in the top ribbon
  • Select Forward as attachment

  • This will compose a new blank email with a copy of the full email as an attachment. You can then send this email to CHAS Technology or the Information Security office.

Office365 Outlook (macOS Client)

To forward an email as attachment, select the message and then:

  • Right-click the message entry
  • Select Forward as attachment

  • This will compose a new blank email with a copy of the full email as an attachment. You can then send this email to CHAS Technology or the Information Security office.

Outlook Web Access (OWA)
